Belajar Indirect-Reported Speech Kelas 12 SMA SMK MA

Pada postingan kali ini penulis akan berbagi tentang Kalimat tak langsung dalam Bahasa Inggris. Kalimat langsung atau Indirect speech/reported speech dibentuk dari kalimat lansung atau direct speech/reporting speech. Materi Indirect speech ini diajarkan di kelas 12 dan masuk dalam language features (ciri kebahasaan) dari News Item.

Ada beberapa perubahan dari kalimat langsung menjadi kalimat tidak langsung dalam Bahasa Inggris, yaitu: pronoun, tenses, dan adverb of time and place.

Berikut ini akan penulis uraikan mengenai Indirect speech dalam 6 kalimat Bahasa Inggris:

1.	Affirmative sentences -      Mother said, “I cook rice everyday.” Mother said that she cooked rice everyday. -      Robert told me, “Anita is studying math now.” Robert told me that Anita was studying math then. -      They said,”we have been here for two hours. They said that they had been there for two hours. Perhatikan perubahan pronoun(kata ganti) yang terjadi di dalam kalimat tak langsung tersebut, selain itu tenses juga ikut berubah satu tingkat di atasnya, dari present menjadi past. Selain itu perubahan juga terjadi pada adverb of time, seperti now berubah menjadi then. Selanjutnya adverb of place dari here menjadi there.
2.	Negative sentences -      Shidqi said, “I dont like apples.” Shidqi said that he didn’t like apples. -      Ratih and Rendy said, “We will not go to Jakarta next month. Ratih and Rendy said that they would not go to Jakarta the following month.
3.	Iterogative sentences -      Zahra asked me, “Do you like coffee? Zahra asked me whether/if I liked coffee. -      Uncle asked me, “Did your father go to Pekalongan yesterday?” -      Uncle asked me whether/if my father had gone to Pekalongan the day before.
4.	WH Questions -      Father asked me, “When do you do your homework? Father asked me when I did my homowork. -      Berto asked to the teacher, “Why did Malin Kundang leave his mother? Berto asked to the teacher why Malin Kundang had left his mother.
5.	Imperative (Command) -      Mr. Ali ordered me, “Open your book page 52!” Mr Ali ordered me to open my book page 52.
6.	Prohibition -      My mother forbade me, “Don’t leave me alone!” My mother forbade me not to leave her alone.
