Belajar tentang Quantifier

Untuk menunjang pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di SMP/MTs, Penulis sengaja menulis dan posting artikel yang berkaitan dengan Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Pada kesempatan kali ini penulis ingin discuss tentang "Quatifier".

Quantifier adalah kata-kata yang menunjukkan seberapa banyak jumlah sesuatu(kuantitas).

There are some teachers sitting in the room

1.   Some

Some artinya beberapa. Digunakan untuk kalimat positif dan kalimat pertanyaan yang memiliki perkiraan jawaban “ya”

Contoh : I have some cats .

             She has some sugar in the kitchen.

                 There is some salt in the bowl.

             Do you have some pencils? Yes, I do.

2.   Any

Some artinya bebrapa. Digunakan untuk kalimat negatif dan kalimat pertanyaan yang memiliki perkiraan jawaban “tidak”

            Contoh : There are not any cars in the garage.

                         I don’t have any money

                         Are there any students in the classroom? No, there aren’t

                         Does she bring any ink? No, she doesn’t.

             

3.   Article a/an

a/an artinya sebuah, seekor, seorang (satu)

a digunakan untuk kata benda yang huruf depannya konsonan.

an digunakan untuk kata benda yang huruf depannya vokal.

Contoh: a dog, a book, an apple, an orange, an egg

            I have a monkey in my home.

            We have an eggplant.
